Geminga is a neutron star approximately 250 parsecs (around 800 light years) from the Sun in the constellation Gemini. Its name, attributed by its discoverer Giovanni Bignami, is both a contraction of Gemini gamma-ray source, and a transcription of the words gh'è minga , meaning "it's not there".

About the Legacy version.

What is the legacy version of Geminga? Well... It was made for the second 1-Bit Weekend Game Jam! (We ended up 9th.) It is the original version of Geminga, bugs and all.  It is available to download for free if you're curious.  The jam themes were Astrology, Chemistry, and Gambling/Casino.

Known Bugs in Legacy Version, fixed in current:

  • Don’t talk to the shrimp asking you to show a hundred coins from the right, or your game will freeze as it fails to move to that spot so you can go through.  (This makes sense in context.)
  • You can bet 0 coins at the casino machines, though this is not exploitable, as you would win 0 coins from that.
  • A teleporter is missing in the Libra world, but you can get around this with teleporter items.

The game is pretty good, the music is pretty good, I liked the "secret" music and I got stuck on the shrimp with 310 coins cuz I am dumb and I forgot the warning, but I saved the game a bit before so...

(+2)

you need to talk to the shrimp I warn you about; just from the front or the left. They'll let you pass through, and you can go on towards the end of the game

The first video on this game. I liked the art style and story. Good job on this one.

I got stuck, but this is awesome!

Oh no, was it the known bug?  I'll fix it after the jam ^^' I wanted to fix it but the people I lived with stopped me because it was so late... ah well. I think I'll also add a saving prompt in between worlds so you're not as bummed if something like this happens.

(+2)

no. i was just having trouble with the puzzle where you have to guide the other character by moving together :( im bad at games r.i.p.

(+2)

Ah yes, I think that's one of the hardest ones? Here's a tip: once you've  gotten yourself on the same horizontal level as the twin, you've basically won. ^^

(+2)

I love this! The art is so stylized and cool and the game itself is a fun challenge! Excellent work!

(+1)

Thank you!! I had to do a bit of thinking to make it properly challenging but I think I reached a good balance in the end, so I’m glad you seemed challenged but not frustrated ^^

(+1)

Wow this was really different - enjoyed it. I accidentally interacted with the bad shrimp :(

(+1)

awww sorry! I really wanted to fix it but my parents yelled at me because it was five am :(

(+2)

Haha that's all good - I should have read the instructions first! You've got a lot of game here.
